Only a mere matter of days after Kate Middleton and Prince William revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting the couple’s first child, the cable network (which previously aired the “William & Kate” TV movie starring Camilla Luddington) is now moving forward with a special that will be all about the upcoming addition to the royal family. Specifically, this show is entitled “Secret of the Royal Nursery,” which is bizarre when it comes to how it somehow manages to combine the joy of Kate’s pregnancy with something that sounds a little bit like “National Treasure.” (If Nicolas Cage shows up somewhere in here, we’re in serious trouble.)
According to the network’s own press release, this special is going to focus on interviews with “numerous friends and family of the celebrity couple and leading Royal Family experts” as they discuss possible baby names, the history of the couple, and just what the child will mean to the future of the British Monarchy.
Thanks to a new change in the line of succession to the throne, William and Kate’s child will automatically become the third heir to the throne behind Prince Charles and William regardless of whether or not it is a boy or a girl, and therefore it will likely be pegged with a “future king or queen of England” label at a very early age. While this special will surely please royal fans, there is still an important question that we have: are “friends and family of the celebrity couple” the sort of people who are really going to blab on them constantly during these sort of television specials?
Stay tuned: just as we had during the Royal Wedding, there are likely going to be a flurry more of these coming up at some point down the road.
