I talked to him for a few minutes, and I met several members of the cast and crew of the show too. Apparently Newt was in town to talk to Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels. His driver suggested Newt eat at St. Elmo’s Steakhouse downtown. When he got there, the restaurant was closed because Parks & Rec was filming, but they worked him into the script.

That’s the story I consistently got from everyone on the street, anyway. It was a lot of fun to meet everyone.
