Brad Pitt’s ‘World War Z’ moves filming to Glasgow

Brad Pitt takes on zombies in ‘World War Z’

The new zombie movie ‘World War Z’, starring actor Brad Pitt will be moving their production to their next location; Glasgow.

The production crew will transform parts of the city into war-torn ruins as over 1,200 cast and crew members film scenes in George Square and numerous other locations around town.

American cars and fake store fronts will be helping Glagow look like Philadelphia and many of the central roads in and out of the city will be closed for filming.

An open casting call was announced last month for Glasgow residents to participate in the film as a zombie extra.

The leader of the Glasgow council, Gordon Matheson spoke about the Brad Pitt movie coming to their city and said;

“We are ready to welcome the World War Z production to Glasgow. There is great anticipation in the city ahead of such a huge film coming here.”

The Glasgow City Council is projecting that the film shoot will boost the city’s economy by £2m.

‘World War Z’ will be coming to a theater near you on June 21, 2012.
