It has been a long time coming, but for the first time in almost ten years, a former “Bachelorette” has now married the man that she picked at the end of the show. Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum officially tied the knot Saturday in an outdoor ceremony in Pasadena, California, which is about as far as you can get from the couple’s home on the East Coast or from Ashley’s hometown in northern Maine. The entire ceremony was filmed for a special that will be airing on ABC December 16, and the entire ordeal was both hosted and officiated by the show’s rosemaster himself in Chris Harrison.
As for attendees to the show, there were many including the likes of Trista and Ryan Sutter (the last “Bachelorette” couple to marry), former “Bachelorette” stars Emily Maynard and Ali Fedotowsky, Ashley’s friend from Brad Womack’s season in Michelle Money, and former “Bachelor Pad” winner Michael Stagliano. Of course, it should come as no surprise that Womack, Ben Flajnik (who Ashley famously dumped in favor of J.P.), and Ashley’s controversial former contestant Bentley Williams were not in attendance.
Ashley and J.P. took their time in getting married, as they waited a year and a half following their engagement to ensure that they were compatible beyond just the time that they met on the hit ABC series. As a matter of fact, both Ben and Emily have ended relationships with their picks from the show in Courtney Robertson and Jef Holm ever since the two parties first became engaged.
Are you thrilled for Ashley and J.P., and do you hope that this wedding does serve as some sort of proof that contestants from “The Bachelorette” can actually have some sort of happily ever after? If you want to hear some more details about the big ceremony, you can find them out over here.
