HBO’s ‘Girls’ star Jemima Kirke welcomes baby boy

GirlsMrs. Carter: Start handing out the cigars, it’s a boy!

Jemina Kirke has had a fantastic year starring on the hit HBO series “Girls” as well as  giving birth to a baby boy!  Reports from E! Online say that Kirke and her husband Michael Mosberg have just welcomed their second child into the family, a boy they named Memphis. Kirke gave birth to Memphis last week  and he is joining his 2 year old big sister named Rafaella Israel. ‘Girls’ creator Lena Dunham posted a message on her Twitter account on November 21st that leads us to believe that Memphis’ actual birth date is November 20th.  She wrote: “Yesterday was amazing. One of my friends had a baby, one got engaged and the doctor told me the bump on my tongue is nothing to worry about.”

Kirke once said that if she ended up having a boy that she was going to do her best to teach him how to be nice to women, because being “humble and sweet” is a very difficult thing to do.

On season 1 of ‘Girls’ , Kirke’s character (Jessa) had her story line revolving around a pregnancy that didn’t come to full term. Season 2 of the HBO hit will be back on the network on January 13th and if you haven’t had a chance to take a look at the season 2 trailer for “Girls” you can do so below.
