When the news first broke that Emily Maynard and Jef Holm were going their separate ways following a brief engagement, the general assumption here was that now that the news was out (and beaten to death with a stick by every media outlet on the planet) there were not going to be too many stories on the subject for a while. Well, we were wrong about that. First, there was the friendship that Jef had formed with his fellow former contestant in Arie Luyendyk, Jr., and then, there were rumors that Emily had found herself a new boyfriend (even though those turned out to be false).
Now, we have the rather shocking comments from Arie that have spread around the internet like wildfire. First, they were on both his Twitter and his Facebook account, but they have since been removed from the former:
“You’re not the person everyone thinks you are.”
This has certainly felt a bit like a zinger to everyone who wondered if this was directed towards Emily now that the two parties have gone their separate ways, and we don’t know whether he was saying this out of anger or out of some sort of sudden need for attention. Regardless, Jef posted a message of his own today that suggests that he and his pal may be at odds over how to handle this situation:
“Class is knowing what to say, when to say it, & when to stop.”
Sure, it’s not a given that Jef is talking about Arie (and some say that it was a disagreement with a publication), but he’s a smart guy and obviously keeps track of everything going on in the world (especially his part of it). Even if he feels this way about Emily, as well, he is not going to be someone who airs out his dirty laundry online. After all, the tabloids have more or less done that for him.
What do you think about Arie’s original quote, and about Jef’s response? If you want to see the latest on Ashley Hebert’s wedding, you can do so here.
