‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: More on Joe Manganiello’s betrayal

In what should be a surprise to know one, the question of “who is the mother?” on “How I Met Your Mother” is once again being delayed, and instead we are going to be dealing with an entirely different issue in the short-term: how in the world Marshall is going to be able to save his job as an environmental lawyer? As we saw last week, Jason Segel’s character pretty much gave away all of his company secrets to a man in Brad (Joe Manganiello) that he thought he could trust. Instead, it turns out that Brad is really the man that is going to be fighting on the under side.

In the sneak peek for Monday night’s episode, one thing is made apparent immediately: Marshall is in serious trouble. He admits that he really has no sort of backup plan at all now that all of his own battle secrets are out there, and the only hope he really has now is trying to ensure that he has the ability to think on his feet well enough to save his own hide.

This will not be the only storyline that plays out in this episode, as we are also going to see just what Barney and Robin plan to do next with their relationship given the stunning event that happened just as Neil Patrick Harris’ character had picked out the ideal gentleman’s club to call home.
