NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 2: Carson Daly gets military video star an audition

We have a potential contestant.

In what is yet another example of how the internet can bring people together in unusual and fantastic ways, a Staff Sargent in the Air Force has just landed an audition on “The Voice” simply due to the fact that she sang a rather incredibly cover of “Rolling in the Deep” while overseas.

Earlier this week, we posted a story about Angie Johnson — a young woman who performed her cover of the Adele song with the group Sidewinder. As a result of the viral video’s success, Carson Daly himself messaged Johnson and made an invitation for her to be on season 2. Now, it looks as though she is going to receive some sort of private audition in hopes of getting selected by one of the show’s famous coaches.

While it’s certainly still up in the air as to how far Johnson could go in the competition, the talent is there — and she also has the sort of emotional story that will bring in votes if she gets to the live rounds.

Does this story warm your heart?
