With there being quite a bit going on in the “American Idol” universe at the moment, here are two stories (each with videos) certainly worth looking into. Coincidentally, both feel at home in country music — and they each also managed to win their respective season.
First, we turn to Carrie Underwood. While in a performance in Ottawa this week — which was at one point her temporary home (to quote one of her songs) thanks to hockey-star husband Mike Fisher — the season 4 champ was joined onstage by fellow country superstar Miranda Lambert. The two ladies decided to rock the audience with a medley of two of their hits — “Before He Cheats” and “Gunpowder and Lead.” You can check out the full video below, and it is more than a little bit entertaining.
Next, we have reigning champ Scotty McCreery — who is taking the time out to speak with USA Today about some of his newest experiences out on the road with the rest of the top 11. You can check out this video below — next up, the “Idol” season 10 contestants are going to be heading over to New Jersey for a series of performances.
“American Idol” season 11 is going to debut in January — the second phase of the audition process (and the first with the judges) is set to begin shooting next month.
