Demi Lovato is set to have quite an evening at the VH1 “Do Something Awards” on August 18. Not only is the singer going to be giving her first “Skyscraper” live performance since revealing this song earlier in the summer, but she is also nominated for the “Do Something TV Star” award alongside some other other big names — including “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson, “90210” star AnnaLynne McCord, former “Idol” judge Paula Abdul, Ian Somerhalder of “The Vampire Diaries,” and “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria. (An interesting connection — Demi’s little sister Madison de la Garza is Eva’s TV daughter.)
On Saturday, Demi is showing that more than anything, she wants to try to win the award. While at rehearsals for the ceremony, she has retweeted a number of posts by people claiming that they are voting for her, and has posted many reminders for her massive list of nearly four million followers.
The Do Something Awards mark Demi’s second awards show since the “Skyscraper” release — she was also at the Teen Choice Awards earlier this month, where she received via Charice an award for her inspirational story along with one for having the “Song of the Summer.”
