‘The Bachelor’: Ben Flajnik talks ex Courtney Robertson, Arie Luyendyk Jr.

Ben FlajnikMrs. Carter: In the words of Ron Burgundy, “this escalated quickly.”

It was only a few weeks ago that former “Bachelor” star Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson were making some statements that were at least somewhat respectful of each other as they announced that they would be breaking up after almost a full year of being together, but now they are trading barbs left and right. In a recent interview confirming her new relationship with race car driver, total cutie and former “Bachelorette” contestant Arie Luyendyk Jr., Courtney claimed that she was “miserable” the entire time that she was with Ben, and also suggested that the show’s producers really forced her to fall in love by taking away all communication with the outside world.

So what exactly does Ben have to say about all of this? In a new interview with People Magazine, at first it sounded as though he was happy for Courtney and her new man, but then, this new statement ended with a sharp jab to the chin. He said;

“I’m glad there is a new guy … I see certain things in the media and I wonder, did I ever really know her? I try to avoid it all together.

“I look at these staged photos of the two of them and I’m like: Why is she doing this? The girl that I loved never wanted to be famous and I look at these set-ups and I think I got out at the right time.”

While we cannot verify that Courtney and Arie “staged” anything, the one thing that is easy to say is that both of these reality stars obviously knew that they would be photographed at every turn due to Courtney and Ben announcing the end of their relationship only a week before stepping out with Arie on a date. Even though people quickly rebound from bad break ups all the time and Courtney and Arie’s hook up should hardly qualify as news, because of Courtney’s polarizing editing on “The Bachelor” it has fans of the show shaking their heads at her once again while secretly dying a jealous death that she landed the cutest Bachelor contestant in the show’s history.

What do you think about Ben’s comments towards Courtney here; are they funny, or just a little too harsh to you? Be sure to share what you think, and you can read more about Sean Lowe’s upcoming season of “The Bachelor” here.
