Even though Sasha Mallory was not the “So You Think You Can Dance” winner Thursday night, she knows a prime example of an “American Idol” contestant who managed to go on to be a global superstar despite not winning the grand prize — Adam Lambert. Many Sasha fans already know that she spent time with him as a backup dancer throughout his Glam Nation Tour last year, and the two maintain a friendship to this day.
Speaking after the show to Lindsey Parker of Yahoo! Music, Sasha even cites Adam as proof that she has an incredible career before her after a second-place finish:
“Yeah, [Adam’s a great example]. It’s pretty awesome you don’t have to win to be successful. I’m so excited to start my life after this — after the tour. I’m excited to get the ball rolling and see what comes up. I might come back as an All-Star or choreographer.”
Sasha certainly would not be the first “Dance” alum to come back and act as a choreographer — after all, we saw some of Travis Wall’s work this past season, and he has gone on to be nominated for an Emmy.
If Sasha does end up returning to the show at some point, what capacity would you like to see her appear?
