I think they could do it without Matthew, frankly. Mary is the important half of that couple anyway, and Stevens is phoning it in at this point. They just need a baby boy who can be the heir. I agree Allen Leech was great this season. Better than Stevens, actually.

I really hope Allen Leech gets a nomination for an Emmy. He was outstanding this season!
I love Downton Abbey and I hope we’ll see a fourth season, but with such high ratings, where should be the problem?
Looking forward to the Christmas special.

I love watching Downton Abbey and I am looking forward to the Christmas special and possibly season four . However I cannot imagine a series four without Matthew and the Dowager . Matthew has become such an integral part that I cannot imagine Downton Abbey without him . Mr Fellowes something must be done to ensure that Dan Stevens returns . A substitute for his character will not work . The scenes with Tom and his baby are great .

I’m so looking forward to season 4. Season 3 was really good in my opinion, it was great getting out of the house when we followed Matthew, Mary and Edith to London. Would be great if it continued like that! And also, I think Thomas is a great character! He is one of the few homosexual characters whos personality is not that he is homosexual. it was also nice to see a more vulnerable side of him!

I love this show so much it brightens up my Sunday evenings and will miss it so much. Wonderful writing JF and great characterisation. Hope DS and DMS can sign up for Season 4 (hope there is one), and there would be no Mary without her Matthew and certainly no Downton Abbey/Crawleys without the Dowager – and long may she reign. Come on then JF, give us another…
