‘Jersey Shore’ season 4 ratings down, but still strong for Thursday night

It’s down a little bit.

You knew that “Jersey Shore” was not going to be able to keep up that gargantuan pace first set by the premiere forever — or even for two weeks in a row.

The ratings are officially in now for Thursday night, and the adventures of Snooki, Jwoww, and The Situation in Italy ended up falling about 13% in the 18-49 demographic, putting it at a 3.7 rating for the night. There were also close to 7.4 million people tuning in, which marks a rather steep decline of 1.5 million people from the premiere record.

If we wanted to look for a reason for the drop, it probably has nothing to do with America’s desire for more GTL — NFL football was on for the first time since the Super Bowl Thursday, and there was also plenty of coverage associated with the Republican Presidential debate. (Granted, how many people who watch “Jersey Shore” also watch Fox News?)

Expect the “Shore” to bounce back a little bit next week — just in time for some of the major drama to start.

What were you watching Thursday night?
