Melissa and Tony are dispelling the rumors that she made it as far as she did in her season because people felt sorry for her. She is extremely talented and she and Tony have a great chemistry. Shawn is an american icon much like Apollo and Emmitt.

The closest was Roshon last year who got eliminated at #2, but that was double elimination and the scores were much closer. This was probably why Sabrina was cut: this never happened to #1 before, she was just too safe for both weeks, probably had the safest lead in the history of the show at a 2 point to perfect score after two weeks, 10 points ahead of Kelly, and actually had the highest cumulative score of the season and one of the highest averages in the whole series at this point.

Which is why voters thought, “Why waste my vote on someone completely safe when I can save someone in trouble?” Unfortunately, that thinking makes the safest person in trouble.
