If you look at Thursday night’s new episode of “Jersey Shore” in a superficial way, you will probably generalize that it is essentially just the same show we have seen for three seasons already — there was drinking, partying, and people making questionable decisions. However, there was one particularly news-worthy moment that very few of us thought we would ever see — The Situation actually expressing something resembling a human side.
During a late-night conversation with Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino actually admitted that he had some genuine feelings for his housemate, which is not something we have seen the master of all things “GTL” do on a regular basis inside of the house. As for why he would do it now, the answer may be simple — he can’t have Snooki, so it makes him want her even more. (As expected, Snooki quickly turned down his advances by saying that she was happy with her current boyfriend Jionni LaValle.)
With this conversation in mind (along with Sammi trying to say the magic words of “I love you” to Ronnie later, we certainly saw one of most fascinating “Jersey Shore” episodes yet from a psychological perspective. What makes one man love the unattainable, and what makes a woman care for someone who she has such a rocky history with?
Do you think the cast of “Jersey Shore” is making the right decisions here?
