‘True Blood’ season 6: Anna Paquin’s pregnancy impacts other projects

Sookie and BillMrs. Carter: Being a new mom means many changes!

Anna Paquin recently gave birth to a set of twins, and we already know just how this has impacted the schedule for “True Blood” season 6. Rather than film a standard 12-episode season starting later this year, the actress instead is going to be waiting until the new year to start shooting a shortened collection of ten episodes. Not only that, but we have not learned that the actress’ pregnancy has also changed the shooting schedule of some of the projects that she had lined up for her off-season away from the show, including a film that was scheduled to shoot this summer alongside a “Thor 2” star.

Speaking in a new interview with the Independent, here is what Tom Hiddleston had to say about this project, which now has no defined shooting date (though rumor has it that filming will take place after season 6 is wrapping next year:

“Black Wings Has My Angel is based on a novel by Elliott Chaze, it’s a sort of noir thriller. It’s a great script. I signed onto it a long, long time ago … Anna Paquin was going to play opposite me, she’s had a baby, so being a mum is much more important than being whatever that low life character is. It was a sort of fun noir thing, but it’s way, way off in the future.”

While being a mom is never necessarily easy, this delay in shooting not only gives her an opportunity to have her children, but be accustomed to this new life before trying to venture into some other projects again too soon. Once you consider that her husband Stephen Moyer already has children from a prior relationship, it may at least be a little bit easier of a transition for her than it has been for some other actors over the years.
