In real life maybe he can get out of hand, but what he brings on camera is perfect. I agree that sometimes his character can take it too far, but with a little bit of rewrites, and some wittier lines, Chevy can do magic.

IMO the show doesn’t really need him and he could easily be replaced. He just seems to bring the negativity and drama, which is the last thing the group needs. His character “dynamic” consists of: being old and bitter; we don’t really need him on the show much longer, do we? Let’s just finally cut the strings.
