Outlander season 5: David Berry gives you a behind-the-scenes tour!

OutlanderBummed out about the Outlander Emmy snubs this morning as much as we are? If so, we recommend that you check out the video that we have for you below featuring David Berry — we feel like there’s a good chance it’ll put a smile on your face.

The man behind Lord John Grey brings you over the show’s production studio in Cumbernauld (close to Glasgow) and gives you a small sense of where so many of the props are stored. It’s one of the largest locations of its kind in all of the UK and there are props as far as the eye can see! Season 5 marks Berry’s third season being a part of the program and at this point, he’s managed to figure out quite nicely all of the various odds and ends behind the scenes. We don’t know how often he’s playing around with some of the props, but watching him opening a chest and also finding Simon Callow’s head turns out to be a rather unique experience!

Consider Berry’s presence in this video another sign that Outlander does have plans for him in season 5 — when we last saw Lord John, it was after his “engagement” to Brianna where he did what he could to protect her. With Roger arriving back at River Run, that engagement can end and Brianna can be with the man she wants. Meanwhile, Lord John’s path could continue to be an interesting one. He’s a part of the British government and with that in mind, it would be understandable to assume that he and the Frasers would end up being at odds with each other. Yet, the world of Outlander is often much more complicated than that. The hope is that he, Jamie, and Claire can find some sort of inner peace even though Jamie is a staunch supporter of Murtagh and likely will not turn in the regulators to Governor Tryon or any of the British soldiers.

Outlander season 5 should premiere in 2020; consider this just one of many teases that will be coming in the months ahead.
