Only a matter of 24 hours after he was finally confirmed as one of the co-hosts for “The X Factor” alongside Khloe Kardashian, it now appears as though the “Extra” and “America’s Best Dance Crew” host is getting set to also share his wedding with the world courtesy of a TLC special. Just one week after he and fiancee Courtney Mazza are set to tie the knot in Mexico, the network will air a special documenting the grand event and air it on December 8 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. Like with all wedding specials, there will likely be everything from confessionals from the guests to some sort of retrospective on Mario and Courtney’s love story.
In a statement, here is what Lopez had to say about the decision to broadcast his nuptials for an audience of likely millions:
“Courtney and I already feel incredibly blessed to have found each other, and thank God for our beautiful daughter Gia. Our family is looking forward to celebrating our wedding later this year, and know that TLC is the perfect partner to help us share our love and our special day with the rest of the world.”
This wedding date for Mario was set long before he took his new job with the Fox reality competition, but this does certainly make things a little bit more complicated for him than it otherwise would have been. “The X Factor” will still be airing its live shows in December, so this wedding will likely be a situation where he flies down, celebrates the big day, and then flies back up to continue working. The two will likely not be able to honeymoon at all until the Christmas break.
