We have written for quite some time about Adam Lambert receiving the prestigious Equality Idol Award from Equality California during a ceremony August 13 at the Beverly Hilton (which, for those of you who like to keep up with awards shows, was also the site of the TCA Awards earlier this month following their press event). Now, we also know a few more details about who will be presenting for Adam along with another honoree in Facebook.
In a new press release, it was announced that Sam Sparro will be the presenting his award for Adam. Longtime fans already know that Sparrow worked with the singer on the track “Voodoo,” which debuted on some foreign versions of “For Your Entertainment” and quickly became a tour favorite. (The two have also worked on at least one potential song together for the upcoming album.)
In addition, comedienne Kathy Griffin will be on hand to present Mark Zuckerberg’s company with the Equality Advocate Award for their contributions to the LGBT community. (Facebook is based in Palo Alto, California.) Also being honored is New York assemblyman Daniel O’Donnell, a man best known for playing a key role in the legalization of gay marriage in the state earlier this year. (He also happens to be the brother of talk-show host Rosie O’Donnell.)
Stay tuned — we will have more information from the 2011 Los Angeles Equality Awards ceremony as we near the date. If you are still interested in trying to secure a ticket for an event, send an email to Traci Hoffberg at [email protected]
