Kate Gosselin tells Katie Couric about dating show aspirations
Mrs. Carter: Could Kate Gosselin really find love on TV? At least she’s willing to give it a try.
In a new interview on Katie Couric’s self-titled talk show Wednesday, Kate admitted that her eight children still ask her almost every night if she is going to start dating someone soon, and she tells them that getting a boyfriend is not something that she can just do by going to the store and picking one up in the produce aisle. As for why she wants to do a dating show now, she claims that part of her motivation for doing it would be that her kids would have the opportunity to watch her find someone:
“After a few years in realizing my barriers to dating and all of that and loving TV and the experiences . . . I just feel like honestly, yes, that was my idea. I would do it [so] it could be watched by families and my children … But I think that it would be fun because that would allow me to sort of meet people, have fun, show my fun side — I do have one. I’m not always barking orders! And so to sort of do that, I do, I think it would be really fun.”
Would a network actually be interested in picking up a show starring Kate? On the surface, there are some obvious reasons why it would be appealing given that “Jon and Kate Plus 8” did at one point draw over ten million viewers. However, the ratings for “Kate Plus 8” were far below this at the time it ended, and we are assuming that there would be all sorts of challenges to making a dating about about Kate when it comes to casting the right guys.

Is this a joke? She’s been seen hitting her husband, hitting a male guest on her show, hitting her kids, screaming incessantly. Sorry, we’ve had enough. She’s either acting like a shrew and hurting people, or she’s completely boring. That’s why nobody watched her show. She tanked out at 680,000 viewers. And her audience is even smaller now. If some network wants to throw their money and reputation away, then the best way to do that is by giving her a show. It’s no coincidence that TLC went from being a respected network to being a freak show after she came on board.

Interesting how she views herself as a celebrity. She wants to show her “fun side” like the would needs to know more about her. She doesn’t have time to date, but she has time to do a dating show. If her kids are asking her to date every night, there is something seriously broken in that household. With eight young children, how does mom’s dating life hits the conversation?

NO I do NOT want to see a dating show featuring Kate. If it looks like a gold digger, it’s a gold digger. She should hook up with Bristol Palin. Two peas in a pod. LOL can you imagine Kate letting some cowboy in a beat up pick up date her? Better date Kate on the month you get an extra pay check. A TV show about Kate going on dates. Unbelievable.
