Victoria season 3 episode 2 sneak peek: Meet Princess Louise
After all, this sneak peek does a great job in helping to introduce you to the latest edition to the Royal Family, someone in Princess Louise who receives quite a greeting from Victoria and Albert’s older children. The expanding Royal Family expresses happiness and gratitude at the new arrival — though for some other kids, they’re most grateful that Victoria isn’t dead. (It’s official — these kids are definitely still at the age where they have no filter.)
There is a good bit of humor that is present within this scene, and we like that given that it serves as a reminder that while Victoria may have a very busy life with a number of difficult official duties, she also have some lighter moments in her life where she spends some time with her family and also has a laugh.
If there is something that is a little bit off about this scene, it is the presence of Feodora, who seems to be a little bit too eager to be there and then also disappointed when she learns that Victoria and Albert are naming the baby after someone other than her. She is certainly someone to watch as this season continues to move forward.
Victoria’s role as a mother is a critical one in her life — having so many kids would certainly amplify its importance even more. It’s a great thing that the series is finding a way to put a focus on this, while also at the same time managing to also remember that there are some other major issues that she must take on. You will see some of those play out throughout this episode, as a working-class revolt threatens to create all sorts of chaos across Britain. She has to find a way to alternate between being a ruler and then also a sympathetic Queen to the plight of her people. She needs to show that she is paying attention to them, but also has to hold firm to what she believes.
In conclusion, the big takeaway from this sneak peek is mostly that life is not going to be getting any easier for Victoria in the near future. She’s used to being a Monarch at this point, but that does not make any of the struggles she encounters easier by any stretch of the imagination.
