Over the course of the past several months, we have heard about all sorts of things that are coming up on season 2 of “Once Upon a Time,” whether it be the promotion of Emilie de Ravin and Meghan Ory, the arrival of such new characters as Mulan and Captain Hook, or the idea that we are finally going to learn some more about Emma’s past this season.
However, there has been one major question that to this point has remained unanswered: what in the world is happening to August W. Booth? The last we saw Eion Bailey’s character, he was turning back into his wooden form thanks to the magic running out in the season finale. According to TVLine, we are going to see Bailey again at some point this season so that the question related to this adult version of Pinocchio will be answered; however, Lana Parrilla (Regina) explains that it may take a while before we learn anything else about him:
“There are so many stories that are left open-ended, it’s just a matter of time before we revisit these characters … Eion may be coming back as a wooden figure. And he may not!”
It is possible that the ending of the curse could create a whole new lease on life for some of these characters, and restore them in part to who they were before this season began in the first place in the fairy tale world. However, there is a question that we are even more curious about if this is the case: is there a chance for our beloved Sheriff to return? Jamie Dornan’s character was killed off midway through season 1, and we’d love to see him back; however, we doubt the same sort of loophole would exist for him since August was not technically killed. He is just frozen inside of a wooden body.
What do you think the end of the curse means when it comes to August? Be sure to share some of your theories below, and also be sure to check out some colorful new photos of the cast over at the link here.
