Are you excited to see more of Henry Ian Cusick? Since we already know that his character of Simon will be involved in some shape or form already on the fifth season of “Fringe,” we are thrilled to report that there is another show that is going to be using him for three episodes this coming season.
According to a new report from Deadline, the former “Lost” actor (who played Desmond Hume for five seasons on the show, brother!) is going to be appearing on Simon Baker’s “The Mentalist” as a thrill-seeker by the name of Tommy Volker. It also looks like he is going to be wrapped up in one of Patrick Jane’s cases, as he will be tied in some shape or form to the murder of a television reporter.
For Cusick, this is yet another opportunity for him to show off some of his wide array of talents. He made a guest appearance on “Law & Order: SVU” not long after “Lost” as a way to ensure that he would not be pigeonholed as Desmond for a lengthy period of time, and he followed this up with a pretty brilliant arc on the fifth season of “Scandal.” where it was only revealed that he would not be returning to a month or so before the premiere this past Thursday. Meanwhile, his casting gives “The Mentalist” another shrewd performance to work with as the hunt for Red John makes this yet another exciting season.
What do you think about “The Mentalist” bringing Cusick on? If you want to read even more about what could be coming up for the actor on “Fringe,” all you have to do is read the story that is up over at the link here.
