Ratings: ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ finale ties ‘Animal Practice’

What is good news for TLC is not so much good news for NBC, at least when it comes to the hope that “Animal Practice” was going to stay on the air for a little while longer.

the ratings for Wednesday night’s finale of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” are in, and they ended up drawing a massive rating of 1.4 in the 18-49 demographic. This is the best number that the show has drawn all season long, and it also just so happened to equal what the Justin Kirk vet comedy managed to bring in over on NBC.

So what does this mean in the context of Alana Thompson and her family? Really, at the moment it is nothing more than yet another notch on their belt. “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” has already been renewed for even more episodes, and there will also be three holiday specials to go along with it. When you have a show like this that is really in so many ways dependent on the young star’s age, there is only one real solution: try and get as much content as you can now. This is why the stars of “Teen Mom” shot so much while hey were still teens, and while some of the footage now seems dated when it actually comes on the air over a year later; they want to capitalize on the content while they are still young.

What are you more surprised here: that “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” did so well, or that it managed to even tie a network show when it comes to the ratings? Be sure to share your thoughts below! If you want to check out some more news when it comes to the show’s recent renewal, all you have to do is head over to the link here.
