When you look at some of the most notable contestants on “The X Factor” this season, then it’s hard to not mention Jillian Jensen as one of the best. After being a victim of bullying and a lack of self-confidence for most of her life, the singer came out during the premiere and rocked with a stunning vocal that moved judge Demi Lovato to tears.
As it turns out now, Jensen also has a rather interesting connection to one of the top ten contestants on “American Idol” this past season. In a recent post on Twitter, Erika Van Pelt revealed that she and Jillian have a history that exists beyond just performing together:
“Jill is a good friend of mine. Like my little sister. She dated my brother. And yes we play in the same band.”
If you want to know something that makes this story even more interesting, it is that Collin Van Pelt (Erika’s brother) reportedly did try out for “American Idol” at one of the cattle calls earlier this year. We don’t know if he made it through to the next round or not, but you can see him and Jillian performing a cover of “The Christmas Song” below. (Thanks to Mjsbigblog for finding this.)
It’s not clear just yet how far Jillian is going to make it on this show, but we should find out soon given that this marks the final week of auditions. After that, all of the remaining performers will be off to bootcamp.
What do you think about this news as yet another example that it really is a small world when it comes to music? If you want to see Demi’s recent performance of her single “Give Your Heart a Break” on Katie Couric’s talk show, all you have to do is follow the link here.
