For our Tuesday edition of “American Idol” notes, we are kicking things off with something that is always exciting: the release of a new lyric video! On this particular occasion, the video is coming to us courtesy of one Colton Dixon.
The lyric video here is for “Never Gone,” which is the song that Colton opted to rock out to across America during the season 11 tour this summer. We never had a chance to listen to a version of the song with great acoustics, and we have to say that we really like the song. In many ways, it feels almost like it is a Christian version of Daughtry with a little bit of Relient K thrown for good measure. This sort of music should go over very well in Colton’s desired market, where he has the potential to be a bigger star than almost any other former contestant from the show.
See Jessica’s billboard – We wrote recently that Jessica Sanchez was still in the Philippines despite many of her fellow former contestants heading back home, and one of the reasons why was for her to do some promotional appearances for the Bench clothing line that she is endorsing.
The photo to the left is the first billboard photo that we have seen from the line; but granted, we are not in the Philippines so we don’t really get any opportunities to see these on a regular basis. She already had a major promotional appearance at the Mall of Asia today meeting fans, and we have a feeling that this is not going to be a trip that she forgets at any point in the near future.
Kellie Pickler’s TV gig – Finally, we should report that Kellie Pickler will be guest-hosting “Anderson Live!” on Wednesday, which will give her yet another opportunity to chat about shaving her head as a stand of solidarity against her friend’s cancer diagnosis. In addition to that, she is probably the best interview out of any former “American Idol” contestants out there. It should be a good time for anyone who watches.
