It is rather unusual for “Glee” to be bringing us a song from Hole, let alone a song from Hole performed by Heather Morris. However, this is happening on Thursday night’s all-new episode, as Chord Overstreet and Heather Morris are each joining forces in performing the classic Courtney Love-fronted band’s hit song “Celebrity Skin.”
So what is the context here? Surprisingly, it has to do largely with student elections. Both Brittany and Sam are doing everything that they can to put their best foot forward to the McKinley High student body, and that includes going with a much more professioal look. The best part about this here is that Sam has some assistance from none other than Blaine (Darren Criss), who is quickly becoming his new best friend in the glee club as they bond following the graduation of so many people. We know that Blaine is really going to be going through some pretty serious Kurt withdrawals, so helping out someone with their fashion is going to be an easy way to occupy one’s mind for a few hours.
Of course, the irony here is that while Blaine is going to be helping Sam out, Kurt is going to be helping out someone else who is rather important … himself. Thanks to part to his new internship at Vogue.com, he and his new mentor Isabelle Klempt (Sarah Jessica Parker) are going to find a way for him for him to evolve to a more mature look compared to what we have seen him rock over the past three seasons. Let’s just hope that in the middle of this, both Kurt and Blaine remember to make time for each other. After all, there is the episode called “The Break-Up” coming…
