It has been a while since we have seen new “Mad Men” episodes on TV, and the strange thing is that it was only a matter of weeks ago that one thing was confirmed: Elisabeth Moss will in fact be back on the AMC show for new episodes in 2013.
So what the actress have to say about season 6 at the Emmy Awards, which managed to shockingly snub the drama in all major categories? Speaking on the show’s red carpet, the woman behind Peggy Olson of course held firm to the Matthew Weiner tradition of not being allowed to say pretty much anything about her storyline; however, she did say that it was actually a welcome sight to see such an uproar earlier his year over the thought of seeing a show without Peggy given her exit from SCDP:
“I was incredibly flattered … the fact that anyone cared. I wasn’t anticipating that.”
We have posted a great many debates about what we would be most interested in seeing Moss’ character do on the show moving forward, with our current favorite idea being that she, now that she is in a position of power at a rival advertising firm, could serve as some sort of rival to Don Draper and create a fun sort of cat-and-mouse game where the teacher could really take on the student. We have seen Don square off against a good many rivals in the past, but never one who was not only as good as Peggy, but also one that he harbored such a personal connection to. He clearly did not want to see her leave the firm, but in the end he knew there was no other option given her passion to move forward with her career.
What do you think is the best move for Peggy on this upcoming season?
