The cast of “Basketball Wives” is expanding, and we now know who just may be the latest celebrity to sign on to the show for season 5. The twist here may be ironically rather surprising: she is the current wife of a basketball player.
According to a report from TMZ, the wife of Stephon Marbury in Tasha Marbury is in heavy talks to replace Jennifer Williams. Stephon and Tasha have actually been married since 2002, and they have already endured plenty of trials and tribulations that should allow the show to not be a detriment to their marriage in any way (as reality TV can often ruin a marriage). After all, Stephon has been spent much of the past few years playing basketball in China, where he has established a his own little empire.
This addition to the cast may actually be needed when it comes to Evelyn Lozada, who is one of the most-popular members of the show’s cast, and may not return after making some headlines courtesy of some drama and sadness courtesy of her failed relationship with Chad Johnson.
Season 5 of “Basketball Wives” will air in early 2013 on VH1, and the producers are currently hard at work trying to figure out just who else they may be interested in bringing onto to the show. They will likely need at least one more person to go along with Marbury, and it could be more based on how the Lozada situation plays out.
