On continuing our tradition of “Game of Throes” viral videos helping to tide us over until the arrival of season 3 next year, we have something new to share that is pretty much awesome in every shape or form.
During the pivotal college football matchup on Saturday between the Florida State Seminoles and the Clemson Tigers, the marching for the former team decided to bust out a rousing rendition of the HBO show’s hit theme song as the Tigers were facing fourth-and-long by the end of the game. Considering that the Seminoles won the game in the shootout, we are officially dubbing this song as some sort of inspiration.
When it comes to cool renditions of the theme song, this is almost up there with the brilliant violin cover by Lindsey Stirling, though it does give us the same sort of primal joy that we first got while watching all of the death scenes from season 2 smashed together. If nothing else, hopefully this inspired to team to play as though they has the blood of dragons (or at least valyrian steel) flowing through their veins.
Season 3 of “Game of Thrones” premieres on HBO on Sunday, March 31, and we will of course have plenty more coverage from the show as we get closer to it airing. After all, we do still have an incredibly long time to wait … and there are plenty more spoilers still to share.
What do you think of this rousing cover, and where does it rank among some of the other great “Game of Thrones” performances we have heard? We want to hear some more your thoughts below! If you want some more news on a pivotal moment that has already been shot for season 3 of the show, you can do so by visiting the story over at this link.
