Even though Chad Johnson may be entering a guilty plea on charges that he assaulted his then-wife Evelyn Lozada during an incident last month, it looks as though the NFL star is going to be able to still stay out of prison. According to a new report from TMZ, Johnson (who issued a public apology for his actions weeks ago) is now likely to receive probation and an anger management mandate in return for either a guilty or a no contest plea.
This news comes only a short matter of time after the divorce between the couple was finalized in the state of Florida, and this caps off what may very well be the roughest past few months of Johnson’s life. Following this incident and his release from the Miami Dolphins, he has been unable to find himself a new job likely due to the PR problems that could go along with it considering Johnson’s history off of the field.
For several weeks, Chad did attempt to try and win Evelyn back, and at one point even posted a photo that looked as though he had tattooed her face on his leg. None of it worked, though, as she is showing some determination to move on with her life in ways that do not involve keeping Chad around in any sort of capacity. She will return to “Basketball Wives” to film new episodes moving forward, but we have a feeling that she will be approaching it from a very different perspective than she has before.
What do you think about this verdict: was it the right move by the judge, or do you think that this is yet another reminder of celebrity justice being different from what it is for the common man? If you want to find out more about the divorce, all you have to do is visit the story here.
