‘Royal Pains’ finale review: Hank plays the broken record

This has clearly been a season of massive change for “Royal Pains” all across the board. At the start of the season, Jill was still around, and Hank and Evan were completely and totally at odds at odds with each. By the time this finale started Jill was long gone, Hank was with a new doctor in Harper, and we are also had HankMed together and stronger than ever.

However, we had yet another reminder thrown in here that as much as things change, things also stay the same. Hank’s fear of commitment more or less ruined his new relationship, and there was still all sorts of drama at Shadow Pond … at least this time when it came to the place going kaboom in the middle of the night.

As for the surprises during this episode, there were many. Things got a little closer to a Dr. Sacani / Divya relationship, as her relationship with Rafa ended when he admitted to having a child back in Argentina. Should he opened up about this earlier? Definitely, but we were a little bit shocked she did not give him more time to explain himself. (Then again, whatever brings us closer to these two getting together.) As for Paige’s search for her mother, it turns out that Lou was not her mother as both of them were hoping by the end of this episode. The silver lining? That she ad Evan are now planning to tie the knot in December … which just so happens to be when this show returns.
