Are you ready for a little bit of food in the Emerald City? Let’s hope so, since the latest edition of “Top Chef” is going to be coming your way from Seattle very soon.
On Wednesday, Bravo announced that their tenth season of the uber-popular reality competition will debut on November 7 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time … and this is not the only good news. The show is going old-school again with its casting, and getting rid of that terrible twist from last year where the field of 29 was whittled down to 16 the first day. This left us with a cast that was largely unlikable, and a finalist in Sarah who have been one of the most bitter people ever on the show. (With that being said, Paul Qui was an awesome winner.)
As for some other good news, Wolfgang Puck is going to be joining host Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, and Hugh Acheson on the judging panel this year. Last year, it was another famed chef in Emeril Lagasse who was in this spot, and it is nice to cycle in some culinary superstars.
The only unfortunate part about this announcement is that sadly, November 7 is still over a month and a half away; and with “Top Chef Masters” ending soon, all we will have to fill our time is the “Life After Top Chef” reality show that we are unfortunately not that excited about. Sure, Richard Blais is fantastic … but we like our chefs mixed with a little bit of competition.
Are you hoping for some redemption in Seattle? We want to hear your thoughts below! Personally, we are expecting a little bit of something special this time around; we have a beautiful city that is often overlooked on TV save for “Grey’s Anatomy,” a great food culture, and a show hungry to show that it still rises to the top.
