Out of all the people that we expected to see guest-starring on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” at some point, we have to admit: Sean “Diddy” Combs was not someone that was particularly high on the list. Regardless of that, though, this booking is very much still happening. After all, this is a rapper from Harlem, New York, and most of the show’s big-name guest stars are ones with some sort of connection to the title city.
The Hollywood Reporter first posted the news about Diddy’s casting, but unfortunately no further details were available at the time. (He is scheduled to start shooting his spot on the show next week.) If we did have it our way, though, we would likely make it so that he was playing himself, and that Mac, Dennis, and Charlie came up with some sort of crazy idea to either make music or get him to invest some of his mountains of cash in one of their new “products” (kitten mittens!). When it doesn’t work out, we would then expect Diddy to either beat the snot out of them or have somebody arrested.
As great as Diddy (who recently appeared on “Hawaii Five-0” as well as “Get Him to the Greek”) may be, he is still going to have quite a challenge dethroning someone who may be one of our favorite “guest stars” ever on the show: the man pretending to be Donovan McNabb at the open tryouts for the Philadelphia Eagles back during one of the early seasons.
Do you think that Diddy is going to fit in well with the gang in some sort of odd way? If you want to read more about when you can expect the new season of the show to premiere on FX, all you have to do is head over to the link here.
