We don’t really know what is the more surprising story at the moment: that “The X Factor” may be going back to having a solo host after promising against it for so long because of the fact that Khloe Kadashian may be kept from doing it by her own network.
According to a new report from TMZ, the biggest stumbling block at the moment between the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star and Fox may very well be E!, and there is one primary reason for it: the network has an exclusivity clause in their contract to produce anything and everything Kardashian-related. Therefore, they are obviously interested in preserving their own brand, and one of the ways in which they seem to be planning to do just that is by making sure that they have her available to shoot Kardashian-oriented programming whenever they need/want to. In addition to that, there is also the issue of Khloe doing a great bit of press for the show, and then E! making sure they they are somehow still involved in the mix and she does not becomes dissociated with their brand. It may sound petty at first, but the network has to make sure that they preserve their own product.
As for why Khloe may now be a solo host, we don’t know; but we do wonder whether or not this move could have something to do with the fact that the ratings for the show this year are once again a disappointment thus far, and this is a way for Fox to save money.
If for whatever reason Khloe is not hired to host the show moving forward, the other leading candidate at the moment seems to be Mario Lopez from “America’s Best Dance Crew” and “Extra.” He’s a solid choice, though he also bring very little new to the table.
Do you think that Khloe is going to end up being the host for the show? If you want to see how production of “The X Factor” is going leading up to the live shows, you can do so by visiting the article over at the link here.
