“How I Met Your Mother” seems to be enjoying dipping from the “Reno 911!” pool this season. We already know that one of the show’s biggest stars is Thomas Lennon is going to be appear during at least the first episode of the new season as the man Victoria (Ashley Williams) left at the altar, and now, we know of another face who is going to be dealing with Marshall (Jason Segel) while at work.
According to a new report from TV Guide, Joe Lo Truglio is going to be guest-starring as a lawyer at Marshall’s firm who is going to be involved in the case involving lake pollution that we first saw Cootes (Martin Short) take some sort of settlement for last season.
As if all of this news was not good enough, this upcoming storyline is also going to be the same one that features the return of “True Blood” star Joe Manganiello, who is going to be playing Marshall’s old pal from law school in Brad. We don’t know the context of why he is coming back, but we are admittedly already afraid that Joe is going to be squaring off with his former pal in the courtroom rather than in MacLaren’s.
Regardless of what happens, we will find out not long after the series returns to CBS on Monday, September 24 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. Of course, we’ll have a full review of what happened just minutes after the episode airs.
