In the video below, the “Modern Family” star reveals the exciting news that he and his longtime love Justin Mikita are engaged, and are hoping to raise a little bit of money for other same-sex couples to someday get the ability to marry. They are founding a site known as TieTheKnot.org, and the goal here is really rather simple: try and sell as many bowties as possible, with the profits going entirely to promote GLBT organizations that promote the cause of same-sex marriage.
This move caps off what has been a busy summer for Ferguson. In addition to setting up this organization, he has also appeared on multiple episodes of “So You Think You Can Dance” as a much-beloved judge. In addition, he and many other adult stars spent much of the summer in a heated negotiation with 20th Century Fox TV over a new raise that comes customary with great success for a primetime show. Eventually, all parties involved did work it out, and they did so quickly enough for the show to pretty much start filming on time with the likes of Ty Burrell, Sofia Vergara, and Ferguson’s onscreen significant other Eric Stonestreet.
What do you think about Ferguson getting engaged, and the campaign that he has started to help other GLBT couples do they same at some point?
