When it comes to the world of “American Idol,” it’s pretty clear that there are two things that are currently generating the vast majority of headlines at the moment: the new judging panel, and the top 10 from last season getting to spend some time in the Philippines.
Jessica Sanchez’s TV appearance – With all of this in mind, we’re going to kick things off with some fun courtesy of Colton Dixon, Heejun Han (who is learning how to hit on women in foreign languages), and of course the reigning runner-up. Jessica of course takes center stage through most of the video below from a local morning show, but she is not the only one as we see the idols try local food, celebrate Phillip Phillips’ birthday, and talk about what this experience meas to them.
Ultimately, it’s going to be interesting to see how everyone settles back in to their routines once all of this craziness is over next week.
The press conference – While you have already heard the denials from Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj that the two are not “feuding” at all on the judging panel for season 12, isn’t it nice to actually see the words come out of their mouths? This new video comes to us via the Associated Press, and it features all of the superstars opening up a little bit about joining the show, whether or not they would like to perform on it, and what they really bring to the table as a judge for this new season. It’s an exciting group, but we are not sure that this will enough to actually boost ratings after the slump from last year.
Finally, some music – Let’s close with this group mash-up of George Michael’s “Faith” alongside the fun. hit “We Are Young” performed by none other than season 8 champion Kris Allen. It’s definitely a fun performance, and it reminds us a little bit about why Kris is such a memorable winner to begin with: he does more with other people’s songs than just about anyone.
