‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: Ellen Pompeo on ‘True Blood’ star’s role

Months after we first heard about the casting of former “True Blood” and “William & Kate” star Camilla Luddington in a major role for “Grey’s Anatomy,” we are finally figuring out some more information about her. ot only do we now know just how the actress will be playing, but also what sort of relationship she has with one of our leads.

As a part of an extensive interview with TV Guide, Ellen Pompeo reveals that she in particular is going to spend some time this coming season with Luddington’s character, who will serve in some ways as a protegee:

“We have Camilla Luddington, who is an absolute doll. She’s a lovely young actress and I think people will enjoy seeing her. I don’t know how much the other [newbies] are going to be featured. So far to be honest the focus has been Camilla, who really pops. She plays Jo, my intern. Meredith takes out all her frustrations about Lexie dying [and another tragedy to come] on Jo. I don’t deal with my sister’s death yet. That comes up I think in episode five.”

We do know that want of the other major new characters coming up this season is none other than Gaius Charles (“Friday Night Lights”), who is going to be playing another doctor within the world of Seattle Grace. Even though he may not be a focus early on in the season, we have a feeling that his moment will come soon enough.

What do you think about Meredith getting some new blood, and her reaction to her? We want to hear some more of your thoughts below! If you want to find out who else from the world of “True Blood” is going to be coming on board the show for a role, you can do so by paying a visit over to the link here.
