We’ve known for quite some time now that “The Break-Up” is an episode of “Glee” that many diehard fans are dreading, and it is for one reason and one reason only: fear. By the end of the installment, we know that at least one of the couples that we have come to know and love on the show is going to be over.
The first official description of the episode does not specify just which one of our beloved couples is going to be in hot water; however, it does at least give us some details about what Brittany / Santana and Will / Emma are going through:
“Rachel and Kurt are caught off-guard when they get unexpected visits in New York City. Meanwhile, Santana and Brittany deal with the long distance between them, and Will and Emma disagree on a new job offer.”
What is the offer? We would not be particularly stunned if Will was given an offer to go to a school that can pay him a much larger salary, or if Emma ended up getting the same sort of thing courtesy of her inspiring and often funny messages. If one of them does take a job beginning with the new school year, it could serve as an interesting way to transition from what is going on at McKinley High to strictly the real world. After all, the show has already taken one step in that direction in introducing New York; isn’t it on the table that they could go all of the way eventually?
