‘Survivor: Philippines’: Past contestants returning … to daytime

Before we get to the premiere of “Survivor: Philippines” on Wednesday, we will have an opportunity to see a few other of our favorite past houseguests appear in some shape or form, at least according to a new announcement from the CBS daytime show “The Talk.”

So who is going to be appearing? The show has not said, but the return of these past contestants is meant to be an extra way to help promote the launch of the landmark 25th season. There definitely has been quite a bit that has changed in that time, namely that it would have been hard to imagine calling any of these people “stars” back in the day when they were just ordinary people competing against each other on an island. It took eight seasons for there to be returning players, and then there were only two other seasons to feature them until we got to “Heroes vs. Villains” in season 20. Since that time, three out of the five seasons have had returning players. Shocking? It should be, and it shows just how the game has evolved to be more about personalities than surviving the elements.

While this change may not be welcome for fans of the early seasons, it certainly does have its benefits when it comes to getting people to appear on daytime television … namely that viewers will remember who they are and connect with them right away.

What returning players do you want to see on “The Talk” Wednesday? We want to hear some more of your thoughts below! If you want to see some more of our full predictions for the upcoming season, you can do so by checking out the story over at the link here.
