In just four Sundays, “The Walking Dead” is getting ready to walk again on AMC with new episodes (unless you have Dish Network, that is). With that in mind, isn’t it time to get excited over some new official portraits released by the network?
These images (which are coming our way courtesy of The Huffington Post) show off what look in many ways like mugshots when it comes to The Governor, Rick, Lori, and Maggie. We do have a clear personal favorite of the bunch: Michonne, whose image is moody, dark, and gives us just the perfect glare that we would expect from this character. As admittedly excited as we are to see David Morrissey as one of the most notorious villains in all of the Robert Kirkman graphic novel series, Danai Gurira may have the most anticipated role of all. Michonne is such a powerful character, and one that has proven itself to be extremely loved by devoted fans around the world. If you get this one casting wrong, it could be a major problem that dooms much of the entire show. (Luckily, the show does seem to know what it is doing.)
Out of the returning characters pictured here, what is the most interesting is seeing how far someone like Rick has come from the beginning of the series (where he was more of a lawman bound by traditional notions of honor) to the rough, weathered man that he is at the start of this season October 14.
What do you think about these images, and do you have a favorite? We want to hear some more of your thoughts below! If you want to watch a new promo from the new season of “The Walking Dead” be sure to head on over to the link here.
