‘American Idol’ notes: Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert, and Ryan Seacrest

There’s no doubt that this has been an excitement past 24 hours when it comes to “American Idol,” as we now know the official panel of judges who are going to be on the show for season 12.

Before we get to some other stories regarding the first-season champion, let’s start with a Twitter message from Ryan Seacrest that proves that everyone is already getting an opportunity to know one another:

“Everyone gave a heartfelt toast about being on the show after we ate last night. Cant wait to see the first contestants today. #IdolJudges

Let’s just hope that the chemistry here is far ad away better with what we saw last season with Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler; after all, this is what made this show so electric to begin with.

Kelly Clarkson’s farewell – Now, we return to Kelly. The season 1 champion wrapped up the North American leg of her tour this weekend, and she did so by performing the Vince Gill hit “Go Rest High on That Mountain.” This is a song that Kelly reported sang frequently when she was young, so it only seemed appropriate for her to end the tour on a high note with it.

Just like every other cover that Kelly has performed all season, this was pretty fantastic.

What about Adam Lambert? – We are still getting over the fact that Adam is not a part of the judging panel for this season, and to make matters worse, the guy has also dealt with today some rumors that he died in some sort of a jetski accident.

Of course, these rumors are not true, and the group that started them in Global Associated News is known for creating these sorts of terrible death hoaxes. Thus far, they have killed Eddie Murphy more times than we can count on our hands.

So what does Adam do now that the judging gig is a no-go? We imagine that he is going to sit back and start to formulate a massive tour around the world.
