NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Christina Aguilera ‘welcomes’ Britney Spears, Mariah Carey

Even though there may be some sort of a rivalry starting up between “The X Factor” and “The Voice” courtesy of the scheduling, it is not a philosophy shared by one of the NBC show’s coaches in Christina Aguilera.

Speaking in a new interview with another rival singing competition star in Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, Christina had the following to say about the recent additions of both Mariah Carey and Britney Spears to the judging panels on their respective programs:

“I welcome them on to the TV family, it’s a fun place to be. I know that our shows all have different formats and everything, but in all honesty we’ve been in this business together for a long time. I have nothing but ultimate respect for Britney and Mariah and what they do and what they can vying and offer to the table. There’s room for all of us divas on tv.”

Christina was on the radio show in order to promote her upcoming album “Lotus,” in particular the new single “Your Body” that is already starting to make some serious momentum on the radio charts. Christina claims that she first went into “The Voice” just thinking of it as a sort of side project for her to be in Los Angeles and be near her son, but since that time the show has taken off and it has become a little bit more of a full-time job. With that, she is looking forward to getting out on the road again and performing in front of thousands of fans.

Would you be excited about a Christina tour coming up at some point in the near future? We want to hear some more of your thoughts with a comment below! If you want to actually hear the full audio for “Your Body,” be sure to head on over to this link.
