If you thought that the battle between Rachel Berry and Cassandra July on “Glee” was going to die down after the season premiere last week, you obviously weren’t paying very close attention. It was quickly established that Kate Hudson’s wicked NYADA dance instructor has pegged Rachel (or “Schwimmer,” as she calls her) as her new punching bag. Is she really just trying to motivate her by being awful to her? It’s possible, but it is also just possible that she is being awful for awful’s sake.
Regardless, the main push for the conflict here on Thursday’s “Britney 2.0” episode is rather simple: Cassandra doesn’t want Rachel dancing the tango, as she feels that she has pretty much no sex appeal whatsoever and would never be able to carry a role that would require such a thing. With this in mind, Rachel is going to embark down a road to try and discover the sort of inner passion that Cassandra is looking for from her. We don’t know yet how she is going to find it, but it will lead to this final performance of “Oops, I Did It Again” that you see in the photo to the left. Suffice it to say, Rachel is going to up her game and show off another new side of herself … possibly with Brody (Dean Geyer) involved.
Hopefully, by the end of this season “Schwimmer” for Rachel can become synonymous with something else entirely: “So You Think You Can Dance” siblings Benji and Lacey Schwimmer, who just so happen to be exemplary at the tango.
What do you think about this video, and are you of the camp that Cassandra is actually trying to help Rachel by being so awful to her? We want to hear some more of your predictions below!
