Early Saturday evening in the “Big Brother 14” house, the remaining houseguests had what is going to be the last pre-taped competition of the entire season: the continuation of the battle for Head of Household. So who won? Don’t read on if you want to avoid spoilers.
Going into this competition, we already knew that Dan was not going to be playing since he already has punched his ticket to the final competition (which will happen live Wednesday pending a change-up). With this in mind, it was really between Danielle and Ian. Out of the two, it was pretty clear that Ian needed to win this much worse. While Dan is almost sure to take Danielle to the final two given Ian’s status as a perceived threat (though we may actually think he is better off taking him at this point), nobody seems altogether keen on keeping Ian in the game any longer. Earlier in the day, the battle rounds were draw. If Ian won, Danielle was going to pretend to be angry while Dan pretended to celebrate with Ian, if for no other reason than to make him believe that his win guarantees him a position in the finale when it is not really the case.
In the end, Ian did win the challenge, and this led to Danielle staging some sort of possibly-orchestrated meltdown where she threatened to tank the jury if he took Dan to the end rather than her. We don’t know how Ian responds to threats, but we have a few days before we find out for sure.
What do you think about the winner here, and do you think that the stage is set perfectly for an epic conclusion to this final competition during the finale? If you want to check out our recent feature comparing Dan’s game to that of Russell Hantz, be sure to visit the story over at this link.
