The second-ever Britney Spears tribute episode of “Glee” is coming up on Thursday night, and now we have a new performance from the episode that is more than worth celebrating: an enthusiastic cover of “Hold It Against Me” courtesy of one Brittany S. Pierce.
One thing that we notice right away in this video below (via Perez Hilton) is that while Heather Morris has always had a nice singing voice, she has it improved on it even more so than when she tackled some of the Spears songs from the show a couple of years ago. This performance is not only sung well (which is great considering that this is not an easy song to sing given the dubstep and the unusual key), but it’s also an interesting performance from the standpoint of story. Brittany is going to be in a major depression following Santana going to college, and it is going to be made even worse by the fact that Kitty (Becca Tobin) is gunning for her spot as head member of the Cheerios. This is going to be an interesting position for Brittany to be in; she’s never really been the one being bullied relentlessly by someone else, as she has been among the popular kids for most of her time at McKinley, even as a member of the glee club.
What do you think about this performance in particular, and do you feel as though Morris has significantly upped her game when it comes to her vocal ability? We want to hear some of your thoughts on the subject below!
