‘Breaking Bad’ star Jonathan Banks heads to CBS’ ‘Vegas’

You knew that it was not going to take very long for Jonathan Banks to land a new TV role following his time on “Breaking Bad,” and he now has one courtesy of the ambitious new CBS drama “Vegas.”

So what is the man formerly known as Mike going to play? According to TVLine, Banks will star in multiple episodes as a Chicago gangster (go figure) named Angelo who wants to ensure that his empire is being handled properly in Nevada. As a matter of fact, Savino (Michael Chiklis) wants him to potentially consider expanding his business in Sin City, but for the time being he is interested in keeping things the way that they are.

This is turning out to be a busy month of casting for Banks, as he is also getting set to play the role of Ben’s father on “Parks and Recreation,” a role that is going to more or less be the comedic version of Mike minus all of the death threats and dealing. Hopefully, all of these appearances will help to ease some of the sting caused by Banks’ exit from the AMC drama, which we think to this day was the biggest mistake that Vince Gilligan has made with this series. It doesn’t make sense why Mike would be so careless with Walt after watching the man transform over the years, so we don’t really buy to this day why he would have been in the position where he could have been killed. With that being said, somebody better give this guy an Emmy nomination next year.
